0-60 I am not so sure. some people said 7.8 or 7.6

Check out some car mags or better yet test drive one and see for your self. Motor Trend got a 7.4 sec 0-60, 15.5 @ 90mph qtr mile, about 142 top speed, and anywhere from .82 to .86 g on skidpad. The truth is out there.

Car & Driver uses the 5th wheel, which is a lot more accurate than G-Tech type devices used by Road & Track. Not sure about Motor Trend. C&D said 7.6 sec 0-60.
I drove the IS300 at the Lexus event, and it subjectively seemed a little quicker than the auto 328i, but a lot of that is gearing, plus doesn't the IS300 have to shift twice in going 0-60, and many cars like the BMW only once?

oh no my car is .3 seconds slower than a bmw 330i automatic!!!
big deal, so what if its .3 seconds slower? i don't give a crap. I bought the car because its very reliable and its comfortable. Its got good styling, (don't argue with that, people turn heads when I pass by), and it comes fully loaded for 33k. If you get a fully loaded bimmer 330i it would cost over 40k. My friend bought her new red 330i and it cost her over 40k, didn't even get electronic seat adjustment.

You want to know how Lexus will compete? One word: TECHNOLOGY. Todays engineering is all computer aided. All the specifications and simulations you can dream up is available at at your fingertips. Compare it to say Hollywood. They have been in business for like 70 years and now I could produce/direct/edit an entire full length movie that could rival them on my PC? To take on admittidly take on BMW, Toyota knows what they are doing...
