Call me stupid if you want but my friend said larger rims results in slow accelaration......THAT TRUE!?!?

depends on the type of material the rim is..
chrome r heavy and will definetely slow u down, but alloy rims r pretty lightweight...
i have VOLK AV3's on my accord, and the rims weighs less than my factory wheels!!

Larger rims require more engine power to rotate the additional rotational mass of the increased rim diameter.

However, if you can get lightweight larger diameter rims, then this may not occur.

The January issue of SCC did a comparison between 16, 17 & 18 inch wheels. It was informative.

I wonder if theres a significant difference then between the stock 17in and the 16in.
