What exactly does the turbo timer do for you in the car. I mean, does it show when or at what RPM the boost kicks in. I'm not very knowledgeable about cars, but I'd like to learn. Thanks.

it keeps the car in idle after you turn off your car. when in idle, oil is still flowing in the turbo to help it cool off therefore, extending the life of your turbine

keeps the engine running to let the oil keep flowing through the turbo. what can happen is the oil in the housing can cook. i dont know the correct spelling but i think its caulking. its when the oil bakes inside the turbo.

it's 'coking'.

Get a water-cooled turbo and it's not nearly as much of an issue.
