I know that you guys probably use 5W-30 in your IS300's, as that was what was recommended in the GS400. I was wondering whether 5W-30 can be used in a turbo charged car... or do you think that's too light weight?

Tony,
Maybe you can enlighten me on this topic (since you have a turbo Miata). After driving it, do you wait a min or so before shutting it off to cool the turbo? Also is it possible to use a light weight 5W-30 on a turbo charged car?

there's a lot more information on why you should use a turbo timer for turbo cars on the net. do a search for them or try visiting other turbo car's sites. as for oil, you may think about using 10w-30 instead of the 5w-30. chesk out some of the oil websites for info why. check out redline, amsoil, castro, or other oil manufacturer's websites.
