yeah i know, do a search. i did, and i checked the wheel fitment thread, but i am still not sure if this will fit. :oops:

19x8.5 all around with a +42 offset. my car is lowered a little over an inch.

will this fit? i am pretty sure the rear will fit, but will the front stick out? it seems everyone is running 19x8 in the front with a +45 offset. if it does fit, will there be any rubbing issues?

thanks in advance for the reply, and for those who still insist on flaming me for asking even though i did a search, please go read another thread. thanks! :wink:

You didn't post what tires you have on there....but my thought is that they won't work. 42 offset with a 1" drop will definitely cause problems unless you roll/shave your fenders.

my wheels come in pretty soon and i also ordered 19x8.5 all around and i have an s-tech drop. i'm not too sure about my offset but i was told both by the company i ordered them through and volk that they will work on my car. i'm going to be running a 225.35.19 up front and a 235.35.19 in back and i was told that this is going to work.

I have 19x8 +45 now and I don't have normal rubbing while I drive.

It DOES rub when you manuver the car while parking at full steering lock.

it rub the plastic liner near the front but it is a small rub not anything that is cause for alarm.

I will be getting 19x8.5 +45 soon. I don't think that will be any more of a issue than what I have right now.

thanks yellow and lexpression. but lexpression, what offset is volk giving you? i'm just hesitant to spend 3500 on rims and tires if i'm not sure the rims will fit with out rubbing. the +42 offset and the 8.5 width makes me a lil unsure about whether it will fit, especially the rims being 19" and the car lowered a lil. (approx an inch or so)

thanks everyone for the replies though! keep em coming!

His offset is 42. That will end up making a big difference.
if I only have slight problem with 235/35/19 with 8 in +45 offset.

and he wants to run 225 on a 8.5 +43. It really would be about the same.

diameter of the tire will actually be smaller
and wheel will be .25" wider at front face.

Shouldn't make much difference.

Wheel fitment guide:

This is from Lexus_IS300

front
width | offset | tires range (width)
x7 = 40 and up 215-225
x7.5 = 42 and up 215-235
x8 = 43 and up 215-235
x8.5 = 45 and up 215-225

rear
x7 = 40 and up 215-225
x7.5 = 40 and up 215-235
x8 = 42 and up 215-245
x8.5 = 45 and up 225-265 (255-265 requires rolling or shaving lip)
x9 = 49 and up 235-275 (MAY require rolling or shaving lip)
x9.5 = 52 and up 245-285 (MAY require rolling or shaving lip, 285 may require more modification)
x10 = 45 and up 255-315(requires pulling fender)

The extra half inch on the wheel width combined with the -3 difference in offset makes it tough.

thanks lexpression. i appreciate your input. craniac, you are right. that is excatly why i am asking about the fitment before i purchase the rims. the 8.5 width (not 8) and the +42 (not +45) makes me wonder.

does anyone have 19"x8.5" with a +42 offset? or does anyone know someone that does? or even knows for a fact that this will not rub? i read the thread about offsets (thanks [email protected]), and it seems being off a lil in offsets (even a change of +2) can make a big difference.

thanks everyone! i appreciate the replies! anyone else got any advice or knowledge?

i have 19x8 +40 offset with 235/35/19 tires

lowered on coilovers about F1.5 R1.75 with a rolled rear fenders.. no rubbing after...

if i had +45 offset for both front and rears i won't need any rear fender mods and could lower the fronts more..

right now i have about 0.5" wheel gap in front and 0.25" gap rear

i haven't gotten an alignment yet so at the current camber settings there is no rub..

19 x 8 w/a +47 offset - 235/35

19 x 8 w/a +47 offset - 235/35

Will these fit without any rubbing issues on a stock height IS300?

I might want to lower by an inch...somewhere down the road. Can anyone forsee any issues with this?

TIA
