Do Lexus Dealers charge any advertisement fees or any other "add-on" charges? Since it looks like MSRP will be the norm (at least for awhile) I want to be sure that is all I pay...

Fully loaded should be $35,030.

What dealer are you working with? I've been in contact with Ira in Danvers...

I priced a BMW 328i (@ www.bmwusa.com) WITHOUT the Nav system (so that it's just like an IS300) and it came to $42,320... That's $7290 more than a Fully loaded IS300 assuming that the price of the IS is $35,030..... The 323i fully loaded came to $37K....

In all fairness, the IS300 does not come with fold-down rear seats nor on-board computer.
Still, the Bimmer will set you upwards of $40,000.

I am interested in getting just the leather trim and sunroof option ($33,700). I could live with leatherette seats and do without Harman Kardon. Even so, minimally equipped 328i will cost me $36,995. I tend to think Bimmers will have better resale value (particularly in the Bay Area), but then again, Bimmers are way too popular here.

You also have to pay extra to get a CD player or CD changer in the BMW, whereas a 6-disc changer is standard in the IS300.
