Price question

My dad's boss just baught a SBM IS300 for 38,000 at Sterling McCall Lexus(for those of you taht are live in or around Houston). The 38K is after tax and everything. I thought an IS was cheaper than this? Im trying to convince my dad of the IS300...this may be bad cause we baught my mom's rx300 for 39K. Hopefully, his boss will convince my dad of the car.
