Hi,

I got a 2002 IS300 and am going to customize the trunk and drop in a 12" JL W7. I'm looking to buy a Precision Power Class D 1000/1 Amp. Are Precision Power Amps any good? Will this be enough to utilize the full power of the W7?

As time goes on PPI amps are getting crappier. I have a DCX 600.4 and I love it but I can't speak for the newer ones.

There are two newer PPI amps that can give the W7 what it needs in terms of power.

What do you recommend as far as amps go to push the W7 other than a JL 1000/1 monoblock amp?

Look at some sundown amps; they're quality shit and make TONS of power.

try the alpine pdx-1.1000. it's fairly cheap and very compact.

those sundown amps that Stylion mentioned are beasts and produce tons of power. the only downside i've heard is that they require a lot of current. if your electrical system can handle it then it's well worth the money as far as sub amps go.

the pdx1000.1 is also a good choice. It also helps that it can be wired almost whichever way you want and still make the same power. That would help a ton with the W7 since it's an odd ohm load.

I have an older PPI amp (8yrs old). Incredible amp. I'm not sure about the newer ones.
