I read somewhere Eclipse has all the building sizes and location programmed in their DVDs for this application.
Imagine how long it would take to get the whole U.S programmed in there! In any case, someone told me they'll release in the U.S within the next couple of years.
They also said it can pinpoint a location by a cell-phone signal, meaning a friend can call you and you'd be able to find him on a map

I've got the Eclipse 7301, which looks very similar, but no DVD and nice nav screen.

Here is a phat picture of what Nav system Eclipse has out in Japan...imagine that in our IS300. I'm digging the 3d environment.

is the Eclipse 7301 also a GPS unit? How did you get it to work in the States?? i am very interested in how that will work. Or is the 7301 designed for the US?

there is a US version of this head unit. its an indash that actually folds down and slide foward. car toys carries it. theyre like 2300, i think thats too much, i'd rather go with alpine anyways.
Anyone know how much Alpine DVD NAV costs?? I'm planning to get one when I get my IS since I just moved and don't know where to hang out.
