So I was doing donuts, I think I sent it too hard and hit a pot hole or something. Now its pretty much done for...

Symptoms:
  • leaks, see picture from just parking it after a few minutes
  • burnt smell
  • whine noise is kind of loud, see video. Noise gets louder as I accelerate
  • the fluid in the reservoir looks to be mixing with something, perhaps a broken or lose hose. Fluid has bubbles and metallic bits.
  • stiff steering (which is a given lol)

I topped it off twice since I noticed the leak and noises. Still looks bad.

Plans to buy:
  • power steering pump (rock auto only has BBB INDUSTRIES and CARDONE reman, anyone got any experience with these 2 brands?)
  • power steering seal kit
  • power steering pressure hose
  • rack and pinion, bellow and seal kit (no idea if I need this)

Any advice or experience is greatly appreciated, would like an idea on what should and needs replacing. As always, thanks for reading and cheers.

Not what you want to hear but if there's metal bits in the system you'll want to do a new rack and pump and flush all the lines. You'll also want to check and see if there are any lines leaking that you should replace. If your going to keep doing donuts replace the oem ps cooler with an actual radiator so it doesn't overheat. Also replace the fluid with something full synthetic.
