In the endless quest for BBK options (I just haven't really been happy with any of the choices) another possibility arises...the OE caliper BBK.
From my understanding, it uses the OE caliper (thus negating the need for a spacer...fitment issues etc...)
Racing brake has an excellent reputation and produces these kits for other imports...they could offer this additional option in BBK to IS300 owners if we provide them with interest and feedback. I've attached links for those who would like to see this possibly become a reality...

whats the point if it doesn't use bigger brake pads for more contact surface?

because the caliper and friction area are spaced further away from the center of the wheel, they have more leverage against the rotation of the wheel.

and more material (bigger rotor) mean more material to dissapate heat.
