OK, They both looks great (A51 seems Fatter)...but does anyone in here know which one makes the bigger differences?





What do you guys think? Vote Please......:)

Hey Matt,

I don't know too much about the A51 strut, but I have the PLP and it makes the front chassis very stiff. It also clears the engine cover so you won't have to take it off. I can handle corners better with body roll reduced by a lot.

Everybody seems so concerned about removing the engine cover. I think the engine bay would look way pimp if the intake manifold was pollished. That Area 51 bar looks really strong too. Isn't Area 51 gone though?

You cans till get Area51 Structs from Ken Lee from A51.........

I'm very happy with my PLP strut bar. The difference is noticeable. And, if you are concerned with keeping your engine cover - PLP's will allow you to do so. Plus it looks dope!

The plp looks anemic compared to the A-51...


that thing needs some vitamins...


they are both cool... I think the A-51 looks better & i would be surprised if it was not stiffer too it is soo much bigger & the end mounting plates are thick as hell & have a wide stable 'stance" to accomodate the wide bar.. .should be plenty stiff & stable & solid as hell...

...& who really cares THAT much about the freaking Engine cover??! it is just a heatsoak inducing chunk of decorative plastic... & serves no other purpose than to appeal to some designers eye... most lexus buyers other than the IS owners here, NEVER EVEN LOOK into the engine compartment.. .but INCASE THEY DOO...guess it'll look all Stylish & tidy & pretty...... :roll: wutevr....


I MUCH prefer the look of the motor with out it...looks WAY more "ballsy"
"agressive", & "SERIOUS"

I would LOVE to see someone do some kind or proper testing on these IN A CAR to test the real differences.....

I submit that 96% of all users here could NOT actually FEEL the difference these make & the other 4 % would only have felt it if they were used to driving at 8/10th's regularly BEFORE the Strut brace, & then did so again afterward... in a semi controlled environment & on the same roads, same speeds etc. etc. for a proper comparison....

We would need some way to test the actual deflection in the chassis around the engine bay before & after the SB to know if they do anything at all....besides look good...

It is one thing to say " it feels better" & " i can take turns faster" blah blah but that means squat & is usually MUCH more down to "New Mod Euphoria" than actual quantifiable improvements & improvements in the chassis stability at VERY HEAVY cornering rates........

Just because the A51 is thicker doesn't mean its stronger. The plp bar is top notch and looks bad ass too IMO. Made my front end much stronger and helped me to complete my suspension!

Just because the A51 is thicker doesn't mean its stronger. The plp bar is top notch and looks bad ass too IMO. Made my front end much stronger and helped me to complete my suspension!
Hmm.. I don't see anywhere in my post me saying either bar was stronger than the other.... sounds like somebody has STB envy.

Well, had you learned to read in kindergarden, you would see I made NO compairison at all. I didn't even mention the other bar. Here is some school for ya: strong = describes the noun / stronger = describes one noun as being more so than the other noun in compairison. So, now that you have some english skills, go back and read my post. Your comments are not very becoming of a moderator. :shame:

All I know is A51 went bankrupt once and PLP has a better rep. I am going with the PLP front strut after I get my TRD sways.

plp is sweet cause you can keep the engine cover on there, it is expensive though...

Just my 02 cents...I do like the look of PLP coz it looks nicer and cleaner...and yes i like it because of rep and you can keep engine cover off.......but just because A51 went bankcrupt mean they make shit product...I personally would go with A51, when you have the car on show I m sure you can put a piece of black rubber inbetween the strcut and engine cover for the look, otherwise how often do you out your bonnet up? when it comes to engine and suspension mod (mods that you want see) its more important to be praticle than look....just my 02 cents..i respect everyones point of view here....enjoy your weekend......:D
