Hi, I purchased my IS300 a couple of weeks ago with the brushed aluminum trim option. Overall, I think its very nice with the black interior. However, I noticed that the kit I have is a bit different than what some have purchased aftermarket. For some reason mine doesn't come with the aluminum trim for the shifter area, but it does come with other pieces not included in the other aftermarket kit. Anybody know if I can buy the pieces separately?

RBTIV. Yours does look different… here is mine:

There is a good reason why you didn’t get the piece around the shifter installed! Simply put, the crap peals! I had to stick mine on twice, and it still would not stick!! I think the reason for that is the fact that the spherical shape of plastic around that area makes the flat metal sticker want to come-up even on the edges… Just my theory. Sure it looks nice, it stays in place. I’m so tired of the crap pealing off, that I may get my dealer to remove that piece as well.

I believe you can get a more comprehensive kit at www.importpartstrader.com in the store section.

There are different kits available. Some are not true aluminum, but plastic fakes...

Be careful what you buy. I personally like the bigger aluminum kit that gets everywhere. For some reason they don't do the lint collector up top. Wonder why.

HEY RBTIV:
How much did the entire KIT costs$$$$? I also like that brushed alluminum kit because it covers the perimeter of the "Lint" collector(or in some cases Sunglass Holder) what ever you guys use it for...

It was a dealer installed option at Lexus of Westminster in Southern Californa. They had the kit on one of their show car and I though it really goes well with the silver exterior and black interior. The dealer listed the aluminum package at around $700, but after a little haggling, it was practically free.

I don't think every dealer offers the kit. Just took my car in for the 1,000 mile inspection at Lexus of Concord and the service guy was surprised to see it, he said it wasn't offered at their dealership. Also, the kit may be slightly different from one dealership to the next, depending on where they got it aftermarket. I noticed that the kits offered at woodtrim.com and importpartstrader.com offer very good prices. However, from pictures I've seen, their trims do not wrap around the sunglass holder and they do not have the heated seat button pieces, the extra door trim pieces, and the IS300 logo. However, mine doesn't have the shifter and cupholder area, maybe Gennady has a point about the piece pealing off. The kit is actually of very good quality and looks better in person because it has textures you cannot see in the photos.
