Okay, i have a problem that most of you prolly have as well. Rust around the edges of the stock rotors. Did some searching and found a lil info.

Just curious, someone said painting the vents on the edges will not allow the heat from the rotors to dissapate properly. Has anyone had this problem that has painted them, Im not planning on flooding the vents, just wanna paint to look nice. I plan on using high temp spray paint.

Any advice would be helpful, should i brush it on or spray carefully?
Can i do this just removing the wheels only? Color choices? Black or silver?? TIA

no worries about paint affecting the Steel..that shiot will eventually just bake thru & wear out & off from the heat.....it will not affect the rotor or the performance......remember...

Thnx for the reply edgy...it came out great.

This was actually very easy. Made a huge difference asthetically. I just didnt like looking at my painted calipers...then rust all over the edges of the damn rotors.

I just used black hi temp engine paint. Removed the majority of overspray off rotors with odorless mineral spirits. I didnt try to wipe to close to the inner ring or the edges of the rotors. After a 10min drive the pads took what lil bit of overspray i did have off.

I would recommend this to anyone with rusty rotor edges. I cant imagine the paint filling those vents unless you really go to town. My brakes worked perfect. Was a lil afraid residue might harm pads...but i couldnt feel a difference

Anyway, just figured i post my results.. Very easy and well worth it

yeah, painting the rotor edges shouldn't affect the cooling.. i mean, the vents are there for air to flow through the rotor, so the minimal amount of paint you put on the very outside will not do anything.
