to test drive a manual, and not wanting to wait any longer before the S4 goes out of production.

Also guessing the manual has a few glitches....

Has anyone, magazines included, driven a manual yet?

Well when you want a real car, perhaps you can upgrade to a '02 manual IS3

COngrats on the S4. Hopefully you didn't have to pay msrp!?

Damn, couldn't wait 2 months? The S4 is a great car, though I wouldn't want it after the warranty runs out, yikes. My buddy's 2001 S4 has been in the dealer for weeks getting a new transmission installed.

Wow, that's gotta be the worst case of bad luck. Wonder what Audi says about it? Does the service manager even seem surprised? I actually just test drove a manual S4 today. The car is sickly quick. But WAY TOO EXPENSIVE. 42-grand. They offered to take 2 grand off of msrp. Still way too much!

I think the car has issues, the tranny problem is not isolated, and turbos are failing - late 2001 models have a redesigned turbo. If you got the cash it's a great car, and has tons of good aftermarket support.
