Why would you not drive to Columbus through Detroit?

It is a way better drive, in my opinion. Easier boarder cross and higher speed limit through Michigan into Ohio.

Yup, that's an option, put if we take the Sarnia or Windsor way won't we still have to travel through Detroit regardless?

Obviously you guys have never gone this route before.

Once you cross at the bridge, you immeidately get on the freeway and completely miss Detroit! There is one light between the customs exit and the highway ramp.

You will have about 30 minutes of crappy highway concrete, and then it smooths out. Also you will pass 2 Tim Hortons (last chance) on your way into Ohio.
