I took the following photo on Saint Maarten with my 3.2 Megapixel Canon... This is an example of how higher res cameras = overkill for us novices

Just picked up a new 10 Mega Pixel HP

Thing is awesome... huge 3 inch display and incredible pictures. Even has a photoshop type program built into the camera so you can edit the pictures without a computer and print them off of the camera or memory stick.

I have a Canon SD400 5MP but I am swapping it out for a SD800is 7mp soon...

Is optical stabilization worth it? My pictures come out clear...so I'm not sure whether it is worth it...

you're kidding me right??? c'mon eric...we've had many threads about this in the past...hahaha...

either way...i'm using a canon SD700 IS for my point and shoot and i also have my canon 20D (which pretty much sports an EF-S 17-55mm f/2.8 IS USM Lens most of the time)...

go take some holiday pics and post them in my photo thread: http://my.is/forums/showthread.php?t=313868

if you don't take pics in low light situations (like we do in nightclubs when we're drunk...) then the IS isn't worth the extra money...

Got a Canon SD630, its 6mp with a 3inch display and several other basic features. I like it.

Canon's image stabilization is great. I believe the sd800 adds higher isos, right? it really helps with camera shaking in low light condition and when you're using the telephoto end of the zoom.

I don't know...I have pretty shakey hands and with my old camera, even normal shots often turned out pretty blurry. I still get blurry shots every once in a while with my SD700 IS, but they are much more infrequent.
