HI, I was just notified by a dealer that they "THINK" the O2 sensor in the exhaust manifold is bad and they want to replace it. Is this a common occurence? Personally, I am not sure as the dealer that told me this is also the one that damaged my IS and refused to fix the damages until I brought my lawyer in. Any advice would be appreciated.

What's the effect of having a bad o2 in your manifold, like driving wise and motor action.

Hmmm...I dont think a bad o2 sensor would do much could it? I know it can throw a cel and probably worst comes to worst would be maybe putting your car in limp mode?

It also depends on which sensor it is. two are only used to tell OBD II if there is a cat or not in the car.
