Anybody interested in group buy around late september? I'm located in central jersey but would be willing to travel up to Prestige Lexus or down south to either Cherry Hill or Atlantic City Lexus. (Basically, I'd go anywhere in the state - with the exception of Bob Ciasulli Lexus.)

I'd be interested. Looking to buy around October. I'm in central NJ as well. . .was looking at Ray Catena since my cousin got his there and didn't have any problems. Let me know if you work anything out. Thanks.

Devius - a friend of mine used to work for the Lexus Eastern Area Office and mentioned that Ciasulli's business operations were questionable (well, more so than most dealerships anyway.) Earlier this summer, Bob Ciasulli's auto group was sued by the govt for client fraud. I believe Bob ended up settling out of court. Check out: Bob Ciasulli Auto Fraud
I also recall reading a thread from SoybOmb about his less-than-pleasant dealings with the dealership. Anyhow - I'd prefer avoiding them and would rather deal with other high volume dealers in NJ like Ray Catena and Warnock.

cnk - great! Hopefully, more people will be interested in the group buy. Ray Catena would be my first choice as well. Within the next 2-3 weeks, I'm going to check with local dealerships to see what sort of allocations they expect.

Thanks for the info MorpheIS. I have been to both Ciasulli's and Warnock's. I gotta say that I do like the treatment that I got over at Warnock. Despite my young appearance, the salesman at Warnock treated me like a potential customer even though I let him know that I was months away from a purchase. A lot of dealers hand you a card and damn near throw you out when you tell them you are months away from a purchase.

Warnock is awesome! I was getting my 5k check-up and they kept feeding me donuts and cappuchinos. I think the donuts were Krispy Kremes too! My only complaint is that the 5k checkup lasted a mere 45 min. Perhaps that's a good thing - any more donuts and I wouldn't have been able to fit in my IS on the way out.

Anyhow - Devius, are you planning on getting an '02 soon?

Yeah Warnock is hot!! Do you know if they have any 2002's yet Morph?
Also, I plan on getting an IS soon. I would love to join the group buy, but I have a better alternative. I have a relative who works for Toyota Motor Corp. So I'll be getting the IS through his discount, which is what the dealers pay for them.

So whether they have the IS down at Port Newark or if they have to build it will determine how soon I'll have it!!

Devius, does your friend work in West Caldwell? My current IS is through a TMC associate program - but unfortunately my friend no longer can supply me with those deals.

As I understand it, you'll be able to get a great deal - but not at invoice. (They save the really good deals only for family of TMC associates.) Unless of course, your friend is REALLY pulling some weight there!

I think they'd allocate your car to a dealership so that they could handle your financing and stuff. If that's the case, perhaps we could team up effort and purchase at that same dealership? If you're interested in discussing this, drop me an e-mail at: [email protected]

I heard that Warnock has some 02s, but I'm not sure how many. The last time I checked - about a month ago, they still had about 15 '01s on the lot.

Shop at Lexus of Cherry Hill or Lexus of Atlantic City...Try to talk to Andy, in Cherry Hill, he's the finance guy for them, and Tom Norton he's there business manager. Try to get Scott (i forgot his last name i will get for you though) as your salesman. Let them know taht you are good friends with the "Nazir's" and they sent a group of you to buy...they are really good guys and sell there cars, not for money, but fullfilment of the customers desires...hopefully this'll help..
peace!

Habib - thanks for the contact names. I'm going to check Cherry Hill Lexus as well (I have regular business meetings at the Diamond Diner and Vitarelli’s).

Do you mind if I get some additional info from you off-forum? If not, drop me an e-mail at [email protected]

Actually, all of you that are interested in a group buy - send me an e-mail message so I can keep you posted. I'm going to do a little leg work over the next few weeks.

Hey Morph, it actually is a relative that I'm going through, so I will be getting the family discount at invoice. I will email you though off of the forum so that we can discuss some things. And yes he does work in West Caldwell.

Dude, don't get me started

Ciasulli is being investigated by the state to begin with, and I've had NOTHING but problems. YOur dad probably has no problem with them charging over $300 for service, nor has any warantee issues, so they could care less... I on the other hand had some issues (undercarriage/cd player) and they tried to charge me for it, and even damaged my car (which I didn't realize until after I got home: cracked tail lamp & scratches).
Bob is not the place to get a car, I will burn him every chance I get.

Hello Folks, Warnock is great and probably Prestige comes second in my list. My brother and I go to Warnock for service- great guys.Prestige is decent too, but to far from where I live. But I think you can get a better deal through Prestige, because when I was looking to get my IS last year. I went to all major dealership and they came with the best deal-no changes from the first day we met till the signing of the paper- I mean there was consistency - no haggling.

anyway, let me know where U guys decide to do a group buy..maybe I'll join you guys.

Later...Peace.

I got my car from there! There was a scratch on my front nose. I never mentioned it bc I noticed it a week after I got the car. (1st car wash) My car went there for the first 5K service. I insisted they do the ECU upgrade and I am waiting for the part. Afterwards, I think I'll b going to Prestige. The sales guy (Alan) was nice until I signed papers, afterwards, It was like pulling teeth to get a call back. MY temp tag expired and never got a call. I dont recommend them even tho I got a deal I couldnt refuse. Go sumwhere else!!

Just FYI - Ray Catena Lexus contacted me - they have a shipment 20 '02IS300s coming in before the end of August and more due in September. They're getting back to me on the details of the allotment.

I got mine at Ray Catena. No complaints what so ever. The service is great, the dealers are great and the dealership itself in my opinion is one to go to for future reference...

After your IS.. You come in as a second time buyer for a MB, JAG, Bentley, Infinity, Porsche or Aston Martin and one more but I’m not sure what it is for a slightly better deal. My whole Family has been buying cars from either him or his brother (Acura and a few other names) with better rates as the cars add up. I say go with Ray Catena. I noticed there are some people from NY interested as well... there’s a Ray Catena Lexus in Larchmont (Westchester) which I will almost guarantee that you can add that store on as well for the group buy. The more the merrier.

Good luck all with you future purchase, I'm sure it would be pleasant at Ray Catena.

How many of you guys were planning on getting NAV? It looks like dealers are unwilling to wander far from MSRP on cars that are loaded with NAV. It appears much easier to get $500-$1000 (or perhaps more) if you go without NAV.

Anyway - let me know what you guys have your eyes set on.
