Official pricing will be announced on October 11th, 2005 at the Lexus National Dealer Meeting in Toronto. Lexus Central Area will begin shipping IS's on that date from the Railheads, and all dealers should expect to receive their first IS's by the official launch date which right now is October 14th

New Standard Equipment
Several content changes have been made to the IS standard equipment during the last two weeks. This is all great news. The following equipment is standard on all 2006 IS models:
Moonroof with Rotary-Dial Switch and One Touch Activation
Leather
In addition to the above equipment, the following is just some of the standard equipment on all 9506 (AWD) IS Models:
Premium Package (PT) which includes heated and ventilated front seats, perforated semi-aniline leather upgrade, wood trim.

In addition to this standard equipment, the following content is also standard on all IS Models.
Two new all-aluminum V6 engines with Direct Injection and Dual VVT-I
All-New 6 Speed Transmission (Automatic & Manual)
Electroluminescent (Optitron) Guages
Projector Headlamps and LED taillights
Double Wishbone Front Suspension
Advanced Safety Systems (side, knee, curtain, two stage front airbags)
Miniplug Auxiliary Input for MP3 capability
Smart Access Push Button Start
Dual Zone Climate Control
Dual Chrome Exhaust Tips
Sequential Automatic Transmission with Paddle Shifters (Automatic Models)

Thats good news....nice!
So all I need (options) for my 250 AWD are the....Xenon lights, Nav/ML System, and prbly a rear lip/spoiler....YAHOOOO!!! :)

oh wait...this is just for Canada???....#$%^*&**(

No. that is just when they are going to release the pricing.

Yeah, I'm with you on that one.

Bear in mind, though, that this announcement applies to Canada. No definite word if it'll carry over to the U.S. (It probably will, though...)

I hear ya... but seems like Lexus has gone the lux way on this way, has'nt it!

This announcement is for the United States Central Region, not Canada.

Canada is only 20mi from Detroit?!?! Maybe?!?!

Perhaps they wanted utmost privacy and leak preventioon?

Nope. They're now optional (actually, part of the Performance Luxury Plus and Premium Luxury Plus Packages), in conjunction with AFS (Adaptive Front-lighting System), where the left headlight turns 15 degrees and the right headlight turns 5 degrees in conjunction with the steering.

whoa! So if you want HID's , you HAVE to get Adaptive lights?

Well the packaging is just like the ES and RX now...HID comes standard w/AFS granted you get an "optional package". The base model with nothing on it will come with plain halogens. Unfortunately HID is not standard on the new IS unlike the original IS300.
