Hello, everyone i'm new to the Lexus IS community and I'm glad to be apart of it :) I've purchased a IS300 2005 with the 2jz motor.
The car cranks
There is oil looking liquid on the spark plugs when I pull them
The engine has good compression.
not getting any spark
It’s getting fuel
security light turns off so keys work
At first I thought it had to be my ecu so i changed it, i changed my ecu and soldered the immobilizer chip, and my keys function properly with the new ecu, I go to crank, and the issue remains. So i hook up my battery to jump start my fuel pump, and my fuel pump seems to work and turn on. i check my harness's leads for power and it’s giving power to my pump(as expected :) )
These are the issues I've noted so far
1. Fuses work except 4 (Ive jumped the fuel pump fuse and it clicks on)
2. The igniter harness is giving power to the igniter
3. when i turn the ignition to the "run"position and manually move the throttle it does not move.
4. The ecu is throwing (p0351,p2135,p0122,p0222) codes(a couple of them deal with the throttle.
5. fuel pump harness is engaging
(mind you I've replaced the ecu and these codes and problems still appear.)
I have a funny feeling that something is either telling the ecu not to give the engine spark.
could it be the camshaft or crankshaft position sensor?
For the time being, i will be researching through the forums and doing some tests ( i have all the tools a person needs to get this thing started) just need some knowledge from the Lexus kings and queens :)

I believe the fuse pump should always prime so something is wrong. How have you jumped the fuel pump, at the relay or at the pump? P0351 is just coil pack "A" so I would make sure you have power ground and signal at the coilpack then try and swap coil packs and see if you still have an issue. Fuse 4 is door lock, not sure why that's not working. When you replace the fuses do they pop again or do you have no power?

What is status of:

7.5A ignition fuse
Circuit opening relay
25A EFI fuse
EFI relay
Fuel pump relay
Hey hodgon! Here are the fuses and relays that works

The circuit relay works(I’ve jumped it as well)
My 25A EFI fuse works
My EFI relay works
AAnd my fuel pump works as well it turns out it only primes when it feels that it’s attempting to start. So the engine is confirmed getting fuel. Just no spark

the three middle fuses between the green 30A and the brown 7.5A are not working
The blue 15A, yellow 20A and 7.5A next to the 30A are not turning on and the fuse seems to be intact.

Hey thanks for replying! So for some odd reason my fuel pump is only priming when I attempt to start the car so it’s confirmed getting fuel it’s just really sneaky. And I meant only 4 fuses were not working check my other reply and the picture I gave. All of the fuses are not popped and are connected. They just won’t get power even when I turn to the “run” position I will try to replace the coil packs

As you guys, all know, my is300 isn’t starting, it’s not getting spark. I fellow sir in my old thread, said that you have to check your call packs for ground, I just need to know how to check.

Hey what if the code still appears after doing it?

So I’ve later posted that I had a no spark issue with my car, and I couldn’t find what it was, after doing some testing I’ve come to figure out possibly that my ignition coils aren’t grounding, what could it be? I use a test light on both of the terminals on the harness, they both get ground when the ignition is off, And they both get voltage when the ignition is on. But when I go to crank, the test light doesn’t blink, indicating that it is not forcing ground when that cylinder is ready to spark. does anyone have any information for this to help me out? Did I do the test incorrectly? or does it simply not work that way?

Have you tried a new igniter? I had mine go bad did the same thing. I had power and ground at the coils but now spark. I used a lab scope while cracking and the IGT signal wasn’t right. If you have access to a self service junk yard and they have IS300 or GS300 might be able to pick one or two igniters up cheap. last time I checked a new igniter is over $500 that is if they are still available from Lexus. My next question do you have fuel injector pulse? Does your scan tool have live data? If so look at the engine rpm while cracking if you see at least 200 or more rpm then the crank sensor is sending a signal to the ECU.

yeahh I was headed into the igniter area as well I ordered one a couple of days ago my scan tool actually does show me my rpm ima go do that, it doesn’t do live data, but it also does freeze frame

So it turns out my scanner doesn’t do live data nor freeze frame for Lexus, a bummer since I paid $150 for it. But hopefully the new igniter will solve my issue because I did forcefully ground c3, On my igniter and got it to start for 2 seconds but only that, and only 4 cylinders
