Hello, everyone i'm new to the Lexus IS community and I'm glad to be apart of it
I've purchased a IS300 2005 with the 2jz motor.
The car cranks
There is oil looking liquid on the spark plugs when I pull them
The engine has good compression.
not getting any spark
It’s getting fuel
security light turns off so keys work
At first I thought it had to be my ecu so i changed it, i changed my ecu and soldered the immobilizer chip, and my keys function properly with the new ecu, I go to crank, and the issue remains. So i hook up my battery to jump start my fuel pump, and my fuel pump seems to work and turn on. i check my harness's leads for power and it’s giving power to my pump(as expected
)
These are the issues I've noted so far
1. Fuses work except 4 (Ive jumped the fuel pump fuse and it clicks on)
2. The igniter harness is giving power to the igniter
3. when i turn the ignition to the "run"position and manually move the throttle it does not move.
4. The ecu is throwing (p0351,p2135,p0122,p0222) codes(a couple of them deal with the throttle.
5. fuel pump harness is engaging
(mind you I've replaced the ecu and these codes and problems still appear.)
I have a funny feeling that something is either telling the ecu not to give the engine spark.
could it be the camshaft or crankshaft position sensor?
For the time being, i will be researching through the forums and doing some tests ( i have all the tools a person needs to get this thing started) just need some knowledge from the Lexus kings and queens
