New info on ECU upgrade

I just got off the phone with lexus of Wstport in CT and servie writer told me that lexus is going to stop doing the ECU upgrade because it is not totally fixing the porblem and they are doing what he called "the phone line dowloadable upgrade". Which he desrcibe as them download a new program for your ecu and reprogramming it. He also did not sound that smart so I don't know how accurate this is. However he did say he has done 2 of the old ECU upgrades so far and was told by lexus that they would not be doing them anymore. That is all I know if anyone else has heard something like this please let me know.

"the phone line dowloadable upgrade"?? In all my years with lexus I have never heard of that. Sounds like a bunch of mis-information. All I know is that the trac ecu are back ordering like crazy right now. But they will catch up soon. The new software is already out there, but the two should be done together.

According to Derek at Serramonte (SF bay area) he is starting to get the new trac ECUs (about one per day) so he can start signing people up who need to have the upgrade done.

He hadn't heard anything about the ECU replacement being cancelled. As far as he is concerned, he is ready to go (in limited numbers for now).

My trans ECU software was done a couple weeks back and I am taking my car in monday to have the trac ECU replaced as well.

This is B.S. I've just got off the phone with Lexus Westminster and they ordered the Trac unit for me. I will have the ECU done too when the Trac unit comes in.
