First it spread to the other non-altezza Japanese cars, then to the domestic American cars and trucks. Now it's going to take Europe by storm. It goes to show all the others wanna be just like us. Why settle for a wannabe... get the real mccoy, the IS300. =)

I think the BMW is ugly as hell. Looks cheap, probably is cheaply made, and i'm pretty sure it won't be cheap. Ironic.

And while I've never liked the Alteeza style lights, they are somewhat of a step into a different direction and you will probably get many car makers to follow this direction.

I wouldn't go as far as to say all other's wannabe just like us ("us" excluding myself)the lights are the only claim to fame the IS has going for it. Not trying to flame but perhaps you should review how often Lexus and other automakers want to be like THEM.

Just my .02

Isn't this the same thing as the POS 318ti they had a few years back? The econo-3 series for people who wanted to be in a BMW for all the wron reasons. I even saw one with a "M" emblem on it in Hoboken, no idea if it was legit... I doubt it.

It doesn't look like it has all that chrome as a backround for the tailights. I pray that not everyone follows that trend. IS tailights were a design mistake in my opinion. They cheapen the car. But, that is just my opinion and the opinion of a hated BMW owner.

I know a guy that supercharged a 318ti and put a suspension on it. It is a pretty quick, fun and tossable car. There are very few cars that small that are RWD.

There was never an ///M version of the 318ti (stands for Trunk not Included
). Yes, this new one appears very similar to the weak selling 318ti. BMW is making some great looking cars and some really ugly ones. This thing and the ///M coupe make me wanna puke.

That BMW ti is a huge seller here in Germany, you see tons of them, though most are rental cars. But here they're mostly 316i's, which are BUTT ugly and really slow.

So what you're saying is that other than the slight displacement difference, they're exactly the same? ;-)

You are correct there were no M version of the 318ti. However, there was about 500? or so that came with the sports suspension package that was tuned by the M division. Thus the M badge on the door trim.

As for the M coupe comment, it's not for everyone, I felt the same way when I first saw the pictures but once I saw it and drove it I changed my mind.

I've read alot of wonderful reviews about the coupe and I love every other car with an ///M badge, but I just can't warm up to the shape.
