I just learned that my helmet hits the roof liner. Is there any way to fix this such as further lowering the seat.

Opening the sunroof doesn't help since it is offset.

I know about aftermarket seats but not crazy about no side airbag.

What have you guys done to fix this?

How tall are you? I'm 6'2" and I'm close, but not hitting. Now I would likely want to be a tad more leaned forward in a perfect world for racing, but It's pretty comfortable and "appropriate" for racing. If I was leaned forward more I would potentially hit the roof.

I got two Bride seats with Takata Racing harnesses for sale. Pretty cheap in perfect like new condition!

I had some Bride racing seats with the Bride brackets and that combo lowered me about 2" from the headliner. Just FYI for the initial poster

To preserve the use of side airbags, I was thinking along the lines of a lower mounting bracket, remove the bottom cushion, or retrofitting a OEM manual (non-power) seats.

I've seen this done for other vehicles, just wondering if anyone has tried this.

If the side airbags are disabled, you get a airbag warning light. Does that mean the front airbag still work?

Yes the front airbags will still work.
