Just out of curiosity, why would you guys want to remove the Lexus embelem... To replace it with Altezza embelems?...

On a different note I sometimes see S-class Mercedes Benz without Model badge designations... It's either they are stolen, or it's people that own S430's and don't want people to know they have the lesser model

And some people think the badges are ugly - and mess up an otherwise "clean" exterior.

Some manufacturers (Porsche for instance) offer an option to "delete badges" when ordering a car. I tried to do that with my IS300, but my dealer said "It has to come with badges, but you can have them gold plated if you want".

Anyways - I used a knife, and a small amount of "goo-gone" as well as some scraping with my fingernail.

I think the (L) emblem has a rod that goes into the trunk which would make it harder to remove (if you were so inclined).

I heard that removing name plates orginated in germany on the autoban, so people would not know what kind of car they were racing against, like for example when some one would race a 5-series they would not know if it was a 6 or 8 cylinder model. Real car enthusiasts could tell what model it was by the tire size and engine sound though.

if you take the "L" badge off the back, there's no holes behind there??? i'm thinking of taking mine off, but i thought there might be some holes there. i think my supra has holes behind that funky "T" looking badge...

and i have no badges on my integ...it used to really throw off those pesky meter maids when they write up a ticket for parking.
especially when you got no plates.

take it to UCI and leave it there for a few hours. you'll lose the badge faster than you can spot an import. albeit you might lose some other things in the process...

i would try to get off using a heat source rather than a knife, since a knife can scrath the paint, but then again if you use a heat gun you can mess up the paint if you get it too hot, maybe a chemical remover? no, then the chemicals can f up the paint...ask the dealers how they do it.

reminds me of that story my friend told me, his brother, who works for the local Lexus dealer, took some gold GS400 emblems and put em on an old ford taurus, cops pulled him over for something or other and wrote up the car as a 1982 Ford Taurus GS400...idiots i tell you, idiots... so how'd that ticket work out? too bad the IS has the VIN number on the windshield, i got a parking ticket before i got my plates and that bi-atch toy cop wrote me up, that $30 could bought me 76 cheeseburgers at mcdonalds on sunday...

LOL. I think the oil is real...reminds me of that Simpsons where Homer was trying to gain weight...rub it on something, if it turns clear that is your key to working at home...
