I know this was talked about before and I have read about it on here but there has not been any finalization about the navigation system. Before Lexus dealers said they would not be able to install the nav system in 2001 model and then I heard you can. Has anyone heard the outcome of this?

Thanks

I certainly hope so!

In the gallery, they have Lexus pictures of the 2002 IS300 manuals, as I'm sure you have also, and it had the DVD navigation system in it. So I'm already assuming it will be there as an option when the 2002 models roll in to your dealers.

On that note, I also have a question...
Does the DVD navigation system (LCD monitor) also play DVD movies? I need clarification on this please, as I'm not too familiar with DVD navigation systems...

Wondering the same thing, Baka Jin75. Also, are touch-screen displays standard for DVD-Navs these days. Anyone know if the 2002 IS300's Nav is touch-screen?

Any really good sites out there with DVD-Nav coverage, reviews, etc.?

The IS300's navigation system won't have a touch screen. Instead, there will be a console to control the nav system in the center tunnel behind the shifter (where the cupholder is currently).

I would think a retrofit is possible, but I don't think the expense would be justified (need new console to accomodate flip-up screen, need to wire the controls, etc). You're better off getting an aftermarket nav system.
