"Lesser 'hot' Fords will then be badged ST. A new Mondeo ST200 – renamed ST220 – will debut at next year's Frankfurt Motor Show. Powered by a 220bhp naturally aspirated engine, it will boast more luxury and refinement than the ST200. Four-wheel drive has not been ruled out, but sports suspension and 18-inch alloys are almost certain.

A Mondeo Cossie will arrive in 2003. Likely to be available only as a saloon it will also be 4WD, and offer at least 300bhp courtesy of a twin-turbocharged V6. The 4x4 system will be derived from the one set to appear in Ford-owned Jaguar's 'baby' X400."
