Will install intake alone make the car faster? Do we need to mod other things as well to accompany with it?

I saw some posts on the net said install intake alone won't make a noticeable different as far as the speed is concerned, except the sound, is that true?

Any helps or info. would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you!

most mods are for POWER not for speed per se... are you looking for top speed or for power?

I don't really understand what's the different between power and speed.

Um.... changing the intake will increase hp and torque, right? That's mean the car will go faster.

What I want to ask is that do I have to mod other things as well to accompany with it, like changing the exhaust too? Because what I heard is that just by changing the intake alone will not make the car faster, we will have to change the exhaust also.....

Thanks for your help.

power is more like torque/accel, speed like hp/high end

intake only wont make a noticeable difference, you might lose low end and gain a lil high end, yes it will help w/ exhuast then you might notice a difference, if you want an intake that makes a difference go w/ the srt intake and ecu. the ecu is the thing that makes the increase

a friend of mine got the AEM intake and it has alot more punch once you get into 5000 and higher than stock, but below 4000 its way way worse than stock intake. 0-100 stock intake is around 8.5 or 8 seconds.. and with the AEM it was around 10+ seconds.. soo yea :) maybe if you add the safc or afc than it will not bog up as much in the begining, but otherwise im not really sure that its worth it cuz most of the time you wana drag some1 and u start off with 2000rpm and the car feels like shit heh.. and by the time u wind it up to 4500 or 5000.. the guy is long gone.

No. In some cases, it may help the car to accelerate quicker, but probably not by much.

It is totally up to you what you do with your car. Some intakes require a piggy back unit, some don't. Those that do can help to increase the power you gain with an intake...nothing truly noticeable though.

You may see anywhere from 3-10hp. This may translate into less hp at the actual wheels. Don't bet on seeing much of an increase unless you do a whole bunch of mods.
