Check out this info from Autoextremist.com:
J.C. Whitney, the largest automotive direct marketer and producer of the most famous automotive parts & accessories catalog of all time has announced that JCW Sport Compact is the title sponsor for Generation New, the new sport compact/import segment of the 2004 Detroit Autorama. Hailed as "America's Greatest Hot Rod Show," the Detroit Autorama annually draws over 120,000 spectators and features over 500 of some of the best-customized vehicles in the country. Autorama, produced by Championship Auto Shows, Inc. (CASI) in conjunction with the Michigan Hot Rod Association, requires potential show entrants to go through a rigorous selection process to be accepted. Speed, Style & Sound magazine has partnered with CASI to turn the sport compact/import car segment of Detroit Autorama into the JCW Sport Compact sponsored, Generation New section of the show. This new section will feature an outstanding display of new generation vehicles competing for a total of $8000 in gift certificates and products along with a chance for entrants to have their car photographed for a feature article in the magazine. The JCW Sport Compact Generation New award winner will be selected by the editors of Speed, Style, & Sound, with judging based on the best utilization of aftermarket products on a 1990 or newer vehicle. Factors such as paint/graphics, theme, styling and overall appearance will also be taken into consideration. Generation New is a continuing effort by CASI to include a younger generation of custom car enthusiasts with its large display of customized sport compact/import cars. The Detroit Autorama is one of the best events of the year, certainly one of the best things to break up the winter around here, and the 2004 version will be held February 27-29 at Cobo Hall in Detroit, Michigan. More information is available at www.autorama.com.
