Since some of you(TEG) seem to like to tinker with thier IS a bit, I have a request. Create a way to make all the window's auto up and down. I would think you would be able to replace all the window switches with the driver side one and do the wiring using parts from what is used to control the drivers side window auto up and down. I'm sure we could get the parts from the parts counter and create this mod.

I was thiking of this also. However, when I asked a rep from the International Auto Show, he said if I did that, it would void the warranty.

Instead of wiring all windows to one switch and voiding warranty. Why not try to use the factory lock button on the key to roll up all the windows via relays. Just like how you would do if you installed an alarm on the car and add on the relays to close all windows once you arm the car.

Well, I like rolling up the windows while driving. I don't want to have to hold the key while driving on the highway to close all the windows.

I'm not thinking of wiring all the windows to the one switch I'm thinking of replacing all the window switches with that auto switch that is on the driver side and creating something that really looks and acts like it would if all our window's were auto up and down.

If it's as easy as replacing the non-auto switches with auto ones, I'll will surely be pissed at Lexus for not doing it that way in the first place...

Naw I doubt it'll be that easy. But you'll need those switches from the driver switch cause they have the switches to control regular and auto down functions. I think you'll have to setup some relays and figure out what makes the window's stop moving up and down. I'm sure it can be done. Darn it, if I had taken more electronic courses instead of advances algorithems.

Actually I think it's more involved then that. It's not usually the switches that allow auto up/down. It's the stepper motor, the switch just allows you to choose which mode of operation the motor will be in.

So in theory you would need to switch the switches and the motors.

I don't know the exact details of how the auto-up works, but I would guess (strongly) that the car would need some sort of different control module or different window motors to support auto-up. Personally it isn't a big deal to me, so I am NOT planning to investigate...
