looking to purchase a 2001 o 2002 in the midwest. Can any give me some input on what you guys think of them?
Was there any major/minor issues or common problems I should be looking forward to with IS in 01/02?
They all have suede interiors, right?

Any input would be great.

well, since I have an '01... I would say get an '02 because they did some major updates on the car mechanically and electronically but basically the same car if that makes sense. to answer your question, no, they do not all come suede. Mine is cloth and very rare to have it.

to answer your question, no, they do not all come suede. Mine is cloth and very rare to have it.

It is rare to have cloth (only early 2001s and special order I believe).

I think the most common option was to have ecsaine/alcantara (synthetic suede) seating surfaces with leather elsewhere, but they did offer full leather as an option as well.

I have full leather in mine, feels a lot nicer to me than the odd synthetic suede. Avoid the 01s IMO, a lot of decent changes happened in 02

Welcome to the site!! I had the full leather in my 02. Really liked the car and never had any problems with it.

I have the an 01 and there isn't too much difference. There are several models of the same car out there. Such as sport design versions and L-Tuned versions which are really rare. My favorite colors are the Black Onyx and the GGP.
