I recently damaged the front end of my IS, It toasted the front bumper and pushed on the reinforcement. Heres' my question, I am planning on going turbo soon and I am curious if I should invest the $$ in replacing the reinforcement. When mounting the intercooler the reinforcement needs to be removed off the vehicle

Some people remove it, some leave it in. Leaving it in will obviously help with one, safety in an accident and two, overall rigidity of the chassis.

Some notch out the back of the reinforcement member to fit a larger IC behind it.

Yeah, I agree with BigKahuna, just get the right sized intercooler. Unless your planning on boosting to over a 1000 hp, and then the right sized intercooler would be frickin huge!!!!
