idmax sub 12" i2d2 and a crossfire 600 watt amp.

I listen to mostly Rap and music like that

i like bass to be good in the car and outside also

What box should i get for 1 12?

this is my first time with bass , so work with me here.

bass will be good. don't know if 600 watts is enough to truly power the idmax 12 though. i believe it handles 1000w rms.

for rap music and such i would get a sealed box for cleanest sound... you can find the space requirements in the install manual or whatnot or get them on imagedynamicsusa.com

to save space you can get a bigger amp and try running it infinite baffle.. not sure where to mount it for freeair though.

typically you don't blow speakers by over powering them, but rather running the wrong ohm level like 2 ohm to a 4 ohm speaker for extended periods of time also you can have lots of extra distortion by under powering your speakers. just an FYI

I bought a idmax from lisnup and built a 2.4 ft^3 box and it f'n pounds. You can feel you hair move.

Talk to lisnup, I bought my gear from him and had a 100% positive experience, stand up guy. Plus I bugged the shit out of him with questions because I did all the work myself, and I'm no expert.

you can generally find 1.5-2 cu ft boxes at your local stereo shop. just make sure it's at least 3/4 inch thick mdf and well built.

also, make sure the box gives enough backspacing for the sub you are using
