I got sick of waiting for someone to manufacture some IS300.net license plate frames so I ordered some Lexus chrome frames from a site on the internet.
They are really well made. Heavy chrome with a thick anti-glare plexiglass plate for protection. Here are some picts I took with a digital camera: http://www3.sympatico.ca/jekalpin/Lexus.html

I just brought the same frames for my silver IS tooo. Only difference is I used the cut out frame in the front. Did you have a hard time fitting it over the front plate holder? I had to clip the corners to it would fit flush.
They were not cheap but the quality is amazing. The thing I like about them is the fact that they are made of heavy chrome plated brass and the chrome "Lexus" letters stick out in a 3D way. Its kinda funny how many nice cars you see on the road with really ugly looking license plates/frames. I think it spoils the whole look of the car when you have a rusty old plate on the back. Its even worse when you have a ugly faded plastic frame with dealer advertising on it. I couldn't find nice frames at any of my local stores so I just ordered them and had them shipped. Canadian customs burned me for some extra taxes...but they look good.

I usually wash my car by hand with car wash soap. The car looks good cause I just waxed it. There appears to be much discussion over which wax is the best. My friends all use Zymol on their IS300s but I use a less obscure wax called "Liquid Glass". Makes the paint extremely slippery and isn't too difficult to apply.

FYI: There is a IS 300 frame available. I think they run around $40 or so but they are chrome and say IS 300 in black. Very nice in my opinion, guess that is why I bought one.
My headlights would come on fine, but after a while the passenger side would shut off so I would turn the switch on/off and it would just come back on. I would keep doing this for a little bit, but you could see how this can get annoying. Now, when my brother own the car he replace the ballast...
Okay so i just got a 2003 is300 that when i bought it the guy said he put s new head gasket on it and evrything but never finished timing it and i got it thinking that the timing is no problem so i timed it and i can spin the motor over by hand and its good but when i go to crank it to read the...
My IS350 2006 developed this problem. It runs fine after it is started, goes for 5-10 miles and then the engine just stops and some smoke begins to come out of it.
What could be a problem?
Have a p1349 vvti bank 1 code I replaced the ocv and the screen and eraser code and cel still pops up with flashing ‘trac’ light. I bought a cheap aftermarket valve wondering if that’s it so I just ordered an oem used part online should be here in a couple days. Oil change isn’t for another 2000...
Anyone on here with a NON 2JZ swap? My IS is for sure a project car and will potentially get a swap and I'm looking for more budget friendly options. Currently looking at *UZ-FE or 3SGE. Anyone swap any of these in on here? Not looking for howto's or anything, just curious how people like them.
