Received the following message on Thursday, January 25, 2001 from Lexus Mission Viejo:

To all our friends from the E-Commerce Department at Lexus Mission Viejo -
we are now taking deposits on the New Lexus SC430 Convertible Coupe.
We anticipate the first cars to arrive March 15, 2001. The pricing of
$61953.00 was announced at the Detroit Auto Show January 8, 2001. At
show after show the SC430 has received rave reviews. The latest from
this months edition of Car and Driver Magazine, the pricing includes a
host of performance and luxury features - Navigation and Flat-Run Tires,
to mention just two.

The deposits will be taken in Check form only. The amount of the deposit
is $4,000. YOur deposit is fully refundable. Lexus will produce only a limited
amount of SC430s, and we anticipate demand will far exceed supply. Therefore,
there will be a drawing to determine the selling order of these beautiful automobiles.
The drawing will be held in late February or early March 2001 - it is imperative that
if you are interested in the SC430, you call or e-mail to set up an appointment to make
your deposit. Please call or e-mail if you have any questions. Thank you for your
time, and have a great weekend.

(Note: You may view the SC430 at www.lexusmissionviejo.com under New Cars - click on
SC430).

My dad just told me he saw one on the freeway yesterday. It was white without a license plate (obviously I guess). He has never seen the picture of the car before, and he described pretty accurate.
Just wondering if anyone else has seen this car on the street yet?

I saw a red one (the one in Car and Driver, in fact) about six weeks ago. This was on the 5 South at Tustin Auto Center.
