Lexus rebatre on IS 300????????

Does anyone have any information on the pruported $500 rebate from Lexus on this car?

It's a postcard that was sent to selected few that they must take delivery by sometime in April 19? Additional %500 will be deducted from lowest, negotiated purchase price. Don't have the card in front of me at the moment, but I'll see what I can find when I get home..

I would appreciate it and will delay taking delivery tomorrow to try and track this down.
$500 will keep me in Jack Daniels for a couple of days at least.

I think some of us got it because we attended the Lexes IS300 tour last year. They must have used the names in that data base to send the card to as a sort of thank you for going and giving your opinions about the car. Trust me though the event itself was enough of a thank you. They served us a full on spread of a lunch while they did the speaking part of it. We got to see the only new SC430 at the time, and we got to drive and be driven by pros the new IS300 and a BMW and Audi on a pretty liberal track for spead and handling testing. We also got a stainless steel Lexus CD case as a gift! The $500 was just the icing on the cake, besides owing the car itself.

I didn't get invited, but received the rebate. Here's the info:

Just bring this card with you to your local participating Lexus dealer for a test drive by April 9, 2001. As a VIP customer, this card will entitle you to $500 from Lexus toware the purchase or lease of a new 2001 IS300. The totally unexpected, new performance automobile from Lexus.

I asked that same question at the event since I had no idea how I was invited either. I hadn't ever been to a Lexus dealer or anythink like that. They told me I probably had filled out a questionaire at some web site and that's where they got my name. I suppose it's not always bad to fill out your correct information occasionally online. They also told me that all car manufacturers do this sort of thing and I should get invited more since I was now in their database. A guy working at this show told me he had just worked a test drive show where the cars were the Corvette, Camaro SS, Mustang Cobra, and Trans Am. That would have been fun too, getting let loose with those cars! However, I'm still waiting for that next invite.

My girlfriend signed me up for a test drive online, and then like two weeks later I got the pamphlet with the $500 rebate in the mail. I didn't go for the test drive though, because I would have come home with the car and I can't really afford it right now. Waiting for the manual too.

Thanks for taking the time to put the information on the page. It appears only those who received the card can get the offer. Worth a try to find out and I appreciate your help.
I now take delivery of the IS Friday when the weather clears. Then some fun on I-95.
I just hope I like the Jade Green- never had a green one before but it sure looked good at the dealership- put a light stripe on it too to match the interior.
