I have had it I just called the dealer and they said that the 02 spoiler cant fit the 01
!!!!!!! That is a load of bullshiet,

They must think I am naive. He went as far as to tell me the trunk lids are different LOL!

I took engineering courses in college and I am no fool nor are the design engineers for lexus they wont change the trunk lid just to fit a spoiler or the console for an arm rest. I have personaly inspected an 02 and know the arm rest can fit and it resides on the same console as the 01's and I know the Spoiler will fit as well cause it goes on the same trunk lid..I have the armrest (3 parts on order minus the lil' magnet cap) and will order the spoiler when I get a price quote cheaper than 585 for the spoiler! and 185 for the LED!

Thats crap dude, the spoiler can be a direct fit. They might be saying that becauset the colors are different, what color is you car?

Why would they tell you it wouldn't fit if it really did? They would be turning away over $700. I don't think a dealer is going to turn away any sale like that. Plus, those parts guys work on salary + a quota commission. Bottom line, they would need to have a pretty good reason to turn away that sale.

There are 11 pieces needed to get it in an 01' IS300. Sounds like a lazy ass "Parts guy" to me

I hope the 8 extra are just screws and bolts I have the three major pieces on order the steel frame the plastic cover and the top arm rest at a total of $258
what dealer did you get it from????

i would have to wager that the trunk part numbers are different, you should check that, because the 02 trunks have the spoiler, the wiring that runs up the drivers side, probably a tighter spring rate, so that it will still pop up with the added weight, and it has 7 or 9 holes with little fasteners as part of where some of the trunk mounting studs bolt in. it also is held down by glue as well as studs and nuts.

if you do a search, you will see pics of my 02 when we had the spoiler off of it. the pics were probably posted somewhere between 8/16/01 and 8/20/01 .

totally agreed, my point with that was that i am saying that it might be two different trunks, anything could be made to fit the car with enough time and effort, but they may be two different part numbers and that would be why he said that i am assuming? i don't see why he wouldn't want the $500+ dollar sale, if you want, i will try and check into it more with my dealer.

yea , the lexus people are sometimes either very greedy of not well informed on what things are on the cars..

some guy at my dealership wanted almost 100 dollars to fix/ adjust one of my headlights cuz it was pointing a little low...

i said no way and 3 mins later, did it myself with a wrench and screwdriver...really easy too..

Maybe the reason why they say that it doesn't fit and what not is perhaps they would like to keep the 02's different and more distinguishable than the 01's.

I plan on buying the front bra (black one) for this winter. I life in Southern California, so it will only go on when I am snowboarding or going on trips to Mammoth, etc.

BTW, how hard is it to take on/off?

I know a bra on a dirty car == bad scratches,
but my car is always ****-n-span shiny n wax'd.

I can't agree with you more my dealers parts department have no trd parts or performance parts at all!
