4188The next race in the Rolex Sports Car Series of Grand American Road Racing will be the Phoenix 250, to be held on Friday 9 September and Saturday 10 September 2005 at the Phoenix International Raceway in (naturally) Phoenix, Arizona. The best news, though, is that a limited number of my.IS members are invited for free, courtesy of Lexus!

Our most heartfelt thanks for this special opportunity go to Brad Nelson, Motorsports and Events Consultant for Lexus USA. Here is the information he sends us:

We have 12 free pairs of tickets available for MY.IS members. Please extend invitations to your community members as you see fit. On a VERY important note, RSVP by this Friday 2 September We will also need addresses for the tickets and a promise not to use them for commercial purposes! We apologize for the short notice.

Lexus will host a suite on both days with afternoon refreshments and dinner on Saturday for the evening Rolex Series race. Here's how it breaks out:

Gates open at 3:00 p.m. on both Friday and Saturday

Parking passes near suite are provided

Friday: Suite open from 3:00 p.m.until end of Rolex GT race (about 10:30 p.m.) - No services this day

Saturday: Suite open from 3:00 p.m. until end of Rolex Daytona Prototype race (about 10:00 p.m.) - Refreshments and snacks served all afternoon/evening; Dinner available from 6:00 p.m.

The Rolex championship is as tight as ever and it should be great racing - especially since the Rolex prototypes will run by themselves (the Grand Am Cup GT class will run separately this time). We look forward to hearing from you and hope to see you there if you can make it.

If you are interested in obtaining some of the free tickets to the Phoenix race, please go to this thread.

Lexus had also invited a limited number of members to the Lexus Grand Am Championship race last year in Southern California. It was a blast. We had a very fun time, and lexus really took care of us. You lucky folks in near phoenix should definately jump on this.

Here are pictures from last years event in the gallery:
