Hi guys,

A couple days ago I noticed a knocking sound while braking between 30-20 mph. Tonight I torqued all nuts to spec and replaced two rusty ones. I got the car from Michigan about two months ago, so the suspension is pretty rusty though. Furthermore, I drove through a decent bit of standing water (1-2 ft.) around the same time as the noise began. Perhaps I exacerbated something?

Any ideas?

Thank you.

check all your bushings.
i had my passenger #2 passenger front lower control arm(caster arm) bushing fail and it showed the same symptom.
when i hit a bump or when i braked i would hear a loud thump noise.

Ok thanks. Look for cracked rubber when it comes to bushings? And for just anything that looks relatively broken when it comes to suspension? My apologies, I'm not very mechanically inclined.
