it really won't help much at all, the stock intake pipe has baffles and a resonator in it to keep the intake really quiet, the best way to stay sleeper and use a panel filter is to get a joe-z intake pipe.A k&n panel filter will yeild the same results as a intake kit for the most part due to the fact that the oem filter is so restrictive due to longevity reasons as well as smog reasons.
This are the same intake, the K&N site, just lists the retail price. Autoanything has the best price on those I've seen around. I'm thinking of ordering mine from them. Waiting for a email coupon from them though, like 10% off or something I've been sent from them before. Are these 2 the same? Big difference in price!
2002 Lexus IS 300 K&N FIPK Cold Air Intake
Good call. I didn't even click the first link, just figured it was the regular filter on K&N's site. This are the same intake, the K&N site, just lists the retail price.
The difference here is that the K&N one will fit and work great, and has loads of research and development into it, with a proven dyno chart and testing. The eBay one is cheap, but it IS cheap. It will work, but hopefully fitment won't be a problem, and it will just hang there, that mount piece they give you with it really doesn't have a specific spot to mount it to and is the same one they include on all those intakes. So if you are just looking for something that is cheap and will fit cheap, go for it. You will not find a K&N for that price. Also hopefully the MAF sensor will fit in it right, since that thing is just cranked out in some sweat shop in China! :lol:Ok look at this... was talking to a friend, he has one of these, but for his p/u. He claims the tubing don't matter, jut have a K&N cone. Cheap as hell, would save quite a bit? What do you guys think?

Save 200 bucks, then spend 50 for a K&N cone. Save 150, sounds good to me.
