O.K. going through the different owner forums inparticular the altezza forum, I noticed something. Why in the world do we attempt to make our IS300 into altezza'a with badges, and the altezza owners try to make their car look like IS300's with bagdes. can't figure that shi t out. maybe we should start a foreign exchange for car parts...

So many people want to be different.

We should start a foreign exchange program - trading IS300 badges for Altezza badges. Stuff like that.

What strikes me as funny is that the thing is usually to make your car seem better... Like when someone takes a "regular" BMW and puts a //M emblem on it even though BMW motorsports never did any engineering on that particular model. Well with the IS300 owners trying to make their cars look like Altezzas it really is backwards - trying to make it look like a less expensive, slower car... Sigh.

OK, if you live in Toyota city, Aichi Prefecture, where the Toyota HQ is located at and Toyota's market share in this town is more than 80%, (its quite a sight) and you meet Altezzas at every corner of every street, you tend to want to make your car look different.

Hence, I changed mine to IS200 exterior. I don't know about people changing it from Lexus to Altezza though. Maybe people who do Gran Turismo on PS may know what its about.

And Altezzas are slower?????

Of all people, TEG, a 6MT, lighter engine and better weight distribution may just be enough to make the Altezza a heck of a lot faster than the IS300! Just kiddin'

By the way, just got back from another run at the Mikawa bay Skyline scenic driveway. Just beat the crap out of an FD RX-7. And you still say my Altezza is slow? (Well, I do have a turbo, so its not exactly an Altezza anymore...)

Ok, let me give you the full story...

I was taking another drive at this scenic tollway where there's great low to mid speed corners and mild ups and downs, I stopped by at the parking area where I make a U-turn. As I got back from the bathroom, there's this RX-7. I think it was an AT. This guy was pointing to my car and telling his girlfriend how his RX-7 is a sports car and my car was a 4 DR sedan and was not ment to even compete an RX-7.

Here's where I snapped.

OK, so my Altezza is a 4 DR sedan. I hope you realized the turbo meter and the 4 point seat belts with El-sport suspension set you AT driving MF.

I casually nodded to him and got into the car. And waited for him to enter the road. As I got behind him, he punched the gas. Luckily for me, I had an encounter with another Altezza the week before and learned from this Altezza the ideal braking points of this scenic road course. Driving behind a car faster than you can tell you a lot.

If you know what slipstream is, well you know what happened between me and the RX-7.

I could imagine the confusion and the tension in the car in front of me. I could hear the guy's Ego shattering through the sound of my turbine whine. He let me pass and I just went on attacking the scenic route. After 2 corners nothing was seen on my rear view mirror. Man, and I wanted a little more competition.

I didn't think I was still young enough to be temped to have an Ego vs Ego, macho sh1t. I'm going to restrain myself from now on. OK, tomorrow I will go to the library and study. My tires are getting enough damage these recent weeks anyway.
