I think the threaded one is for GS. The cap for IS is twist in, half turn.

Where did you get it?

You have the wrong oil cap (probably part #: 00602-12108-002). If possible, exchange it for the twist-on type (part #: 00602-12108-003).

The real TRD oil cap costs 60-80 bucks.

You bought a cheap cap with a TRD sticker to put on, right?

I know, I went thru the same thing. I finally bought the right one from Carson Toyota. They have the cheapest price on the cap you will find.

no i need the push and turn, not the twist,(no threads) where can i get the push and turn(the one with NO threads)
Part #: 00602-12108-002 is the "screw-on" type ie. has threads.
Part #: 00602-12108-003 is the "twist-on" type ie. has no threads.

The latter (twist-on type) is the proper one for the IS300.

Since you got it off ebay it was probably for another car. They throw all toyota and lexus into one category and fail to realize that some part are actually different.

Contact the seller and return the thing.
