I finally purchased my All-Season tires today. I got the TOYO FZ4 215/45/17. They are a ZR 87W Rated tire. They really drive great, and compared to the P7000 SS they are much quieter.

My thought is why doesn't Lexus make either the TOYO FZ4 or the Pirelli P7000SS the standard tire and offer the Potenza "Summer" RE040 as a no cost option. This way they could do away with the 16" wheel and tire, the 17s look so much better. Also, then the All-Season package will handle much better with the lower profile and larger rubber. It would save all of us cold weather IS300 owners substantial money (no winter tires needed) and still offer the West Coast and Southern owners the "summer only" set-up. All of us in the North could then still experience performance and handling that will not suffer that much, and be able to make it home if the temp. drops and flakes start falling.

You can still get winter packages for $1000 from TireRack, but with the amount of snow the NorthEast gets All-Seasons are fine. Plus you save the cost of re-mounting your rims twice a year.
