Hello guys,
Before you all start thinking I'm an idiot for not knowing, can somebody tell me where to position jackstands for the car? I want to paint the calipers, but I'm not sure of where to place them. If you could take pictures of the placement, I'd REALLY appreciate that.

I can't really describe where to put the jacks, but I know the instruction manual depicts where the jack points are under the car.

They are like 3 inches away from the tire towards the center of the car.

in the is 300 shop manual it has the jack position for the front right behind the oil pan on the center brace. the rear jack position is on the rear end. the jack stands I have been placeing about two to three inces in on the rocker lip from the front and rear tires. That is the same place if you are using a car lift where they would put the pads.

if you can squeeze your head down there, usually they put notches on the rail so you know where to put the jack by just looking. Should be a pair of parallel notches or gooves running perpendicular to the length of the car.
