Hey guys

I purchased lowering springs for an is300 from someone and he had it quite low, but when i installed them on my altezza it didn't go as low as it did on his is300. Is that due to the weight difference and different springs rates?

I imagine the 2JZ is significantly heavier than the 4 banger. While the components are the the same, the spring rates might be different.

From what i was told the 2JZ altezza has a slightly different setup to the 3GSE or 1G, apparently due to the extra weight of the 2J. However looking on the JP carparts list they are all the same part codes fro springs and shocks so that cant be right, not sure if they differ to the IS300 though.

I know that front shock absorbers are different by looking at the parts catalog from KYB (the OEM shocks manufacturer) between JDM Altezza and USDM IS300, springs are different between Canadian, USDM years (2001 vs 2002-2005 models) not en-counting the L-Tuned. so it won't be a surprise if
what the OP asking is true!
