The car is great and runs well, bit of turbo lag in 3rd, power good. Started getting whiteish smoke when it gets warm and oil warning has just come on. Difficult to read the dipstick but there seems to be oil there, so have topped up a little. Why am I getting smoke? I have had the coolant checked for gases and it's okay so shouldn't be head gasket. Guy says it could leak be on the inlet manifold but no signs of oil leaks anywhere. Anybody have any clues as to what this could be, otherwise it's a great car. Full service history but 155000 miles.

How is your mileage? Has it gone up? The White smoke could be an indication that the car is regenerating the diesel particulate filter. If it keep doing it it could be a bad diesel particulate filter or something related to the regeneration of it.

To investigate it you need a Techstream to read out the soot level in the particulate filter
