Hey all -

I just saw an IS200 (yes 200) with Michigan manufacturers plates on the car in a parking lot. The car was definitely a stick but I couldn't tell if it was a 5 or 6 speed. It also had the fender mounted turn indicators (sorry - don't remember what they are really called). It didn't appear to have the tons of instrumentation that the test cars typically have but if it is just here (Arizona) for warm weather testing they don't always load em up with monitoring equipment.

I don't know if Toyota does their warm weather testing for non-US cars here or not.

I've seen a LHD IS200. Back in April of 2000, Toyota Motor Sales came to the Anderson business school at UCLA with an SBM IS200, complete with 6-speed manual.

It'd be nice if they brought the 4 cylinder VVTi-L that puts out 212 hp or something to the US - with a 6 speed manual. That would kick some serious ass. Especially since that engine weighs less and has a manual tranny.
I wonder why they don't do that.
