Hi, I have done some research online and this forum keeps popping up so thought I would join.
On my 02 IS200 I need to replace the front upper balljoint, it was really crusty due to salt/bad weather over the years and the car has relatively low miles so probably still the original. When removing it managed to snap in half, so now I have a bit stuck in the top control arm, and a bit stuck in the hub :crying:
1. Can the ball joint be changed without having to remove the front arm?
2. I have tried my best to tap part of old balljoint up and out of the hub part but it simply is not moving or going anywhere. I dont think this is threaded? Has this happened anyone before and what can be done to get it out
Thanks in advance

He said they rent the tool.... relax son.
Also Rocar sells the ball joint itself. No name aftermarket exist too if you do some research, cross referencing IS200 stuff.
I'd personally get Figs cause I love his stuff.

Most parts stores sell and rent a ball joint separator.
wrong, figs is the only one that sells the ball joint by itself. If you want to buy the entire upper control arm then yes, the parts store can help you.
