I have ran systems getting close to 2000w rms and been fine off of a 4 gauge but once again it is opinion this was back in the day when monster cable was the shiznit. wire does matter i would say go with a good 4 gauge before you go cheap on a 2 gauge.but like italyn said its getting close to the point of wanting a bigger wire.

Considering how often you'd go balls out driving both amps at full capacity...

4 gauge is plenty IMO.

That's also something to consider. 4 gauge is likely fine in either case but I'm kin to overkill; it's in my nature.

Find a local welding supply place and get some multistrand welding cable. That stuff is AWESOME and it's pretty cheap too.
