Just noticed this sticker in the engine compartment, pointing out that you should not replace the IS300's Iridium spark plugs with anything but.

So what's the deal with Iridium plugs? I thought Platinum was the hot ticket. Am I right to assume they will cost like unobtanium?

Yeah.. pretty much.. so far, only Nippodenso makes them (that I know of).. retail price is around $25/piece.. my friends that have used them for drag racing purposes swear by them.. I didn't know the IS had iridium plugs.. thats cool..

Also, Platinum plugs suck.. the only appeal to platinum is its longevity.. for performance applications, its still better to go with a conventional spark plug.. but iridium is the best..

unobtanium.. good one

Wow, that is almost as expensive as a Champ Car spark plug, which is around $40/piece. I guess that is $150 right there when we need to change spark plug.

Nippon Denso makes the Denso Iridum Plugs.. the rep at Import Auto Salon told me the Iridium plugs should last a long time also..
